Amyas Merivale

I am a part time PhD student at the University of Leeds, and a research officer at the Leeds Electronic Text Centre in the other part of my time.  My PhD thesis is on David Hume, and I also have interests in the philosophy of language, English grammar, and descriptive metaphysics.  At the Etext Centre, my work includes web programming and database design for humanities research projects.  Among our output is www.davidhume.org, a growing internet resource for all things Hume, including electronic editions of his philosophical works, many of which are edited by me.  When the wind is behind me, I look a little like the picture on the right.
